Having searched on-line for hours looking to find the right "second hand" dog, I know first hand how difficult it can be to locate the lesser known shelters. I have had several friends and customers ask me about where they can find small local breed specific shelters. So I am compiling a list of big and small shelters here. Please understand I do not personally know all of these shelters and recommend asking lots of questions about the shelters policies and procedures before adopting any animal.
