Dog Kick-Sledding & Ski-Joring Trails in Manitoba

RSS

Congratulations! You have fallen in love with a new winter dogs sport!! Now you have your sled or skis packed up, dog in the car and you ready to hit the trails but you're not sure where you can go?

Once the ice is thick enough Manitoba's massive amounts of rivers, creeks and lakes make great places to go kick-sledding and discover the hidden beauty of Manitoba in the Winter. (TIP if the snow is very deep it is best to have a friend with a snowmobile make a path for you the day before you head out)

Here is some info about the dog-friendly ski trails in Manitoba's Provincial Parks

Winter Trails: Skijoring, Dog-Sledding and Kick-Sledding

PLEASE NOTE: Dogs are not allowed on most cross-country ski trails, however, skijoring and kick-sledding are welcomed on select trails at Birds Hill, Spruce Woods and Whiteshell Provincial Parks, and dog sledding is available at designated trails at Birds Hill.  Dogs must be harnessed and under physical control at all times.
